Group Legal Counsel, London (Part Time)

The Role

This exciting role involves providing legal support to the Quintessentially Group companies and its franchise offices. As the Group Legal Counsel, you will be working on a wide variety of legal and business issues from company secretarial and compliance work, to negotiating global contracts with customers and suppliers and franchising. As the Group Legal Counsel, you will be expected to be an excellent communicator with strong technical and interpersonal skills and you will be able to manage a challenging and diverse workload. You will also be given the authority and autonomy to lead in respect of certain subject matters and be given the opportunity to build strong relationships with senior management, globally.

The Group Legal Counsel responsibilities

  • Drafting and negotiating contracts with “corporate customers” for Quintessentially UK, its subsidiaries and franchise partners
  • Supporting Quintessentially Group businesses with commercial arrangements and negotiating their standard terms and conditions and customer templates (as necessary)
  • You will manage all litigation matters for the Quintessentially Group, including defending any claims and taking action against debtors
  • You will assist with any ongoing corporate transactional work as required
  • You will be involved in managing Quintessentially Group’s portfolio of international trademark applications and registrations, including collating evidence for new registrations or to overturn existing oppositions
  • You will negotiate new and renewed franchises of Quintessentially Lifestyle and other businesses within the Quintessentially Group

Working Hours

  • 3 days per week, 9:00am – 5:30pm

Our requirements for the Group Legal Counsel

  • 4-6 years PQE with training and post-qualification experience from a top City or West End law firm
  • Strong academics and training contract/post-qualification experience
  • You will be a highly organised self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • You must be a talented negotiator with strong attention to detail and have the ability to digest and analyse information accurately and quickly, in order be an effective adviser to the business
  • You will have a demonstrable passion and drive to make your mark at the forefront of this exciting and fast-paced business
  • You will have a strong understanding of commercial and corporate law and, preferably, of IP law (particularly copyright, licensing, trademarks and brand protection)
  • You will be able to work independently and manage your own workload
  • You will have an efficient working manner, with a commitment to following process
