Following the modern European restaurant's successful launch last October, Merchant's Tavern has opened The Storeroom – their chic basement private dining room. As the same suggests, the walls are cleverly lined with food and wine produce, creating a striking ambience for those seated at the room's central communal table. Accommodating up to 22 people for casual dinners, the room can also be turned into a standing cocktail party, serving chips and truffle cream, beetroot with whipped ricotta and bream ceviche to 40 exuberant guests.

The high-end menu artfully captures the fiery surprises of Northern Chinese cooking; including an Abalone and Daikon Salad (fresh and slow-cooked for 3 days), Lobster fried with Sichuan Pepper and of course, Roasted Peking Duck.
