Fayre of St John’s 2016

December 8th 2016

Last Thursday evening Quintessentially, the global private network providing unsurpassed lifestyle services to the world's most discerning individuals, proudly presented the third annual "Fayre of St. John's" event - a charitable Christmas carol spectacular set in the heart of Central.

Held at the magnificent St John's Cathedral, the festive extravaganza saw the city's movers and shakers come together once more to kick start the festive season, with a magical evening of carols, mulled wine, readings, and musical performances. Successfully raising almost HK$2 million in funds for Maggie's Cancer Caring Centre, the event continued to support Maggie's for the third year running, helping to further the charity's amazing work within the Hong Kong community, as an invaluable service to those affected by cancer.

Returning favourites in 2016 included Hong Kong's Prima Ballerina Wu Fei Fei dancing a magical extract from Paquita, as well as charming choral performances by The Harrow International School Choir and The Maggie's Centre Choir. Prominent businessman and music producer James Louey wowed the crowd once more singing an uplifting version of 'Joy to The World'.

New acts this year saw an exclusive recital by BAFTA recognised new talent Wan Pin Chu on the traditional Chinese Erdu, taking guests on a nostalgic journey with a mesmerising version of 'Walking in the Air.' Media mogul Sean Fitzpatrick and singer Diana d'Arenberg Parmanand (The Belfies) performed a rock and roll rendition of 'Hallelujah', followed by a traditional reading by acclaimed journalist and presenter James Chau. The concert was also hosted by renowned director, producer, and TV host Sean Lee-Davies, who read an extract from the bible to conclude the concert.

Aside from entertainment, more than 500 guests lit up the evening – including James and Jane Louey, Anne Wang- Liu and Julian Liu, Audry Ai Morrow, Leigh Tung-Chou, Stephen & Diana King, Olivia Buckingham, Archie & Alice Keswick, and many others from socialites to representatives from some of Hong Kong's top businesses. The event then concluded with a lively Christmas themed after-party at the prestigious private members club, KEE Club where the festivities continued with a live auction of luxury prizes.
