On the road for ten years with Quintessentially Foundation’s Charity Bike Ride

December 14th 2017
Since 2008, Quintessentially Foundation's team of hardy participants has been putting in some serious kilometres, (more than 6400 to be precise) on its annual fundraising Bike Ride, held in aid of 10 exceptional charities all around the world. The four-day event is a great focus of attention and training for keen and seasoned cyclists who strive to push themselves to their limit on some of the most challenging roads in Europe. The teams generally attract around 60 competitors whose hard work is rewarded with some breathtaking scenery that does a sterling job of countering the gruelling ascents, in frequently boiling summer temperatures.

To illustrate how dedicated Foundation's cyclists are, in 2017 alone, the competitors, in partnership with Rapha Travel, raised a staggering £460,000, cycling 640 kms along the rocky and rugged roads between Milan and Monaco.

Next year will mark the tenth anniversary of what has become a landmark on the Foundation's calendar, harnessing courage and determination in raising more than £3 million to date. Never content with resting on its laurels, Quintessentially Foundation has decided to push the boundaries that little bit further in celebration of its tenth anniversary Bike Ride, by planning its most spectacular route yet: a ride that will see competitors traverse 500kms from the Austrian ski resort of Innsbruck to Ljubljana, the picturesque capital of Slovenia.

From 27th June to 2nd July 2018, Quintessentially Foundation will once again join forces with the prestigious cycle brand Rapha, for four days of incredible cycling, including the highest mountain in Austria, the Grossglockner. It is a sensational route that promises to raise a new target of half a million pounds for charity .
