At these five bars, experimental tipples, vintage speakeasies, and eclectic interiors await...

Mark's Bar
66-70 Brewer St, London W1F 9UP

With an apothecary cocktail bar, ambient lighting, leather chesterfields, smoky mirrors and traditional billiards tables, Mark's Bar has a very New York feel. The lengthy list of cocktails are both historically British and eccentric, well complemented by the British bar snacks. This bar is a suave place to unwind amongst the company of a few friends.

Mr. Fogg's
Bruton Lane, London W1J 6JD

Playfully dubbed "The Home of the Eccentric British Adventurer," Mr. Fogg's is the most whimsical bars Mayfair has to offer. The souvenirs of an imaginary explorer cover the walls and ceilings, with taxidermy, hunting rifles, weathered maps and flags creating a peculiar spectacle. However the appearance is not to be completely distract from the exotic cocktails and alcoholic teas.

Purl
50-54 Blandford St, London W1U 7HX

A jewel of Marylebone, Purl harks back to classic cocktails of the Prohibition Era whilst adding innovative flare. This speakeasy bar creates drinks with a multiple sensory experience, using aroma and fogs, foams, food, bespoke serviceware, and liquid nitrogen. The cocktails are offered alongside a selection of wine, craft beers, and food, accompanied by contemporary music of the jazz, swing, and blues variety.

Shochu Lounge
Roka, 37 Charlotte St, London W1T 1RR

Beneath the Japanese restaurant Roka is the soothing and sexy Shochu Lounge, which takes its name from the vodka-like spirit which the bar specialises in. Surrounded by quirky murals and dark wood in low lighting, one can enjoy the unique Japanese cocktails with additives such as sweet potato or chocolate bitter. A full dinner menu is available from the award-winning Roka upstairs.

Experimental Cocktail Club
13a Gerrard St, Chinatown, London W1D 5PS

Hidden away in Chinatown behind an unostentatious door is ECC - a three-floor speakeasy perfect for couples and small groups looking to enjoy some of the most interesting experimental cocktail. In a dimly lit haven of minimalist brick and mirrored walls, one can relax and choose from a wide selection of weird and sophisticated drinks.
