The World’s Greatest Quiz 2017

September 20th 2017
On Tuesday 19th September, Jonathan and David Dimbleby were joined by Quintessentially Foundation Chairman, Ben Elliot, and host Alexander Armstrong, for the Foundation' s fourth edition of the World's Greatest Quiz , in aid of Dimbleby Cancer Care. Guests including Zac Goldsmith, Comedian, Jo Brand, designer and judge of The Great British Sewing Bee, Patrick Grant, and food critic and writer, Tom Parker Bowles gathered at Rooms on Regent's Park for the illustrious annual event, which raised more than £42,000 for Dimbleby Cancer Care.

Guests were greeted with a Champagne reception before embarking on five rounds of challenging quiz questions, compiled by the team behind TV shows 'Pointless' and 'The Weakest Link'. While the Quiz was in full swing, there were also some exciting auction prizes to play for, including a selection of stunning pieces from the Mayfair jeweler 77 Diamonds, and a 'Day on the Dart' with Jonathan Dimbleby, among many others. As ever, the evening was a resounding success, raising over £42,000 in proceeds that will help further the Dimbleby Cancer Care's invaluable work. The charity was set up in memory of broadcaster Richard Dimbleby, and provides vital practical and psychological support for people in South East London living with cancer, along with their families and carers.

Since it was established in 2008, Quintessentially Foundation has raised a staggering £9 million for their charity partners.

Presenter Alexander Armstrong said of the evening: "This was my first year as Quiz Master and stepping into the glittery shoes of Claudia Winkleman was no mean feat, but I loved every moment of it. It was a wonderful evening and there was a great buzz in the room. A fantastic amount was raised for this wonderful charity that does such important work in the cancer community, and I was happy just to play a small part in this".
